During yesterday's alt-E3 indie press conference Horizon, Phil Fish did not disappoint. Polytron Corporation, in a surprise teaser trailer, announced the development of Fez II. Despite the widespread acclaim of Fez on both Xbox 360 and PC, the announcement of Fez II should blow everyone's minds. Gaming's Andy Kaufman doesn't pull any punches.
As seen in the teaser trailer, there's really not much else to say about the game at this point. A quote in the description reads, "coming to ???? in ????," implying development very well could have started yesterday, or might not even have started at all. What can be confirmed is that Disasterpeace, who created the music for Fez and many other great games, is back for Fez II. It would be heartbreaking if he wasn't.
Stay tuned for more information on Fez II in coming months, years, who knows. Not because the game's anywhere near being in a state to be seen or talked about, but because Phil Fish can't help himself. It's why Polytron is so great to follow. It's the sort of developer/gamer relationship we need, but aren't quite prepared for. My cubes are ready.
