When images of the E3 convention center started popping up with advertisements for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, people were confused. Is this just some odd advertising for Plants vs. Zombies 2? It's what I thought myself. Not the case, however, as EA announced Garden Warfare during today's live conference. A third person multiplayer game that can be either co-op or competitive. It's more than we anticipated.
The thing is, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare looks outstanding. During the gameplay demo shown today at EA's conference, they played a 4-player co-op game where four players each played as a different class -- the pea shooter fighter class, the... was it spinach or lettuce... brawler class, the sunflower healer and the cactus sniper. They took on waves of zombies as well as two boss fights -- the disco zombie and gargantuan. It was sort of like Dungeon Defenders or perhaps more so Team Fortress 2's co-op. Lots of action, lots of fun.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is planned for release in Spring 2014 and is currently only announced for Xbox 360 as far as I can tell. Stay tuned for more information during E3.
