Supposedly they cancelled the subscription based one for whatever reason (maybe the $99 360 wasn't selling?) and since they didn't announce it, I can safely assume its dead.

No it isn't? It will be $499 / €499 / £429.

It's a little higher than I was hoping, but not entirely unexpected. Should only be about £380 with a proper rate of conversion and UK taxes

Less ~20% sales tax that's not included on the US pricing brings it back down to $550, which is about as good as you can hope to lose out on with the exchange rates.

PS3 was no better, with $599 and €599 prices (~$1100 at the time).

At least I know I'm not the only one having a field day over this xD

I was expecting both systems to be in the 500 range, but now I know for a fact Sony is going to be lower. Making their system affordable with somewhat stronger hardware (I don't remember the full details on it, but I remember the PS4 being more powerful with something).

Microsoft is kinda asking for an arm and a leg on this one, even though accounts carry over. They aren't considering the people who are moving from PC to Console, or just starting with consoles all together. Too me it seems like "Hey our system is 500, but don't worry, we know you guys already have accounts and are already tossing money at us still."

The Battlefield 4 exclusive DLC first thing really gets to me, thats the one game PS3 gets DLC for first (That I know of at least) and Microsoft wants to get in on that too. I already preordered for the China Rising expansion, but I refuse to wait a whole damn month just to play DLC. After 3 years of that crap with CoD, its not even remotely cool. >.>
