Just read this. Hm, not sure how much pull he has from a clause a now diminished company gave him, but I do honestly hope Desilets gets rights to his game. He really seems passionate about it, and that makes me want 1666 to see the light of day.

Also, damn, what a salary!

Here's a sort of TLDR for folk. Basically, Patrice has filed a wrongful termination suit. The guy had a contract that gave him full control over the 1666 project, including the ability to buy the rights to the game -- until Ubisoft fired him, because they didn't like the amount of control he had or his ability to buy the game back. So Patrice is saying they fired him for something that isn't true to prevent him from purchasing his game back, and he wants it back along with the monies he lost because of the firing.

Edit: And yeah, this is just Patrice's side of the story, so don't take it as fact.

I dont want to pick any sides before any resl info is released, but so far i think patrice is doing the right thing. THQ basically bullied away the game this guys been pouring himself into, so that they could hand it over to one of their new 170 experienced employees who apparently have THQ's vision in mind, not the gzmes creator.

Obviously the details are sketchy but regardless I hope Patrice wins; Ubisoft can surely afford it and it means an artist gets to make a game he's already put a lot of effort into.
