It looks like Telltale's "something extra" for The Walking Dead fans will be a special DLC addition to Season 1 of the adventure game series. A listing for "The Walking Dead 400 Days DLC" has shown up in recent scourings of the Steam databases. While this by itself is no confirmation of anything, combined with the teasers Telltale has been releasing over the past week we're right on the money.
Telltale has released four teasers through the "gif with audio" service Vine and really we should expect another, or perhaps an announcement, today. Each of the teasers was titled, "Day" followed by a number, bouncing between 2 and 236. The past two teasers included odd flashes to what looked to be a neon sign -- the first showed 40, the second 00. One of my guesses yesterday was 400 days, so I get to say I called it! That's right everyone, I made the obvious connection from the simple and straightforward teasers. Ha!
Perhaps now with a bit of official confirmation it's worth further consideration. We know the DLC seems to take place in the 400 days after the zombie apocalypse, we that over these 400 days several people go missing, we know that it seems to be one person placing their pictures on a bulletin board for missing people. Perhaps we're looking at a short story focused around this small group falling apart one by one? Oh my, what if it was a murder mystery?
Look forward to more information on The Walking Dead and its upcoming DLC "400 Days" very soon, probably even today. Telltale now has two games on my list to watch out for a E3, what with The Wolf Among Us also in development. Watch out next-gen, you might be losing awards to a couple of point and click adventure games.
