Heart rate monitoring. I dare say that will be coming from the Xbox Pad. Why are people getting so angry about the always on thing? You carry frackin mobiles everywhere and you're worried about always-on technology spying on you?

People, as usual, are over reacting to all of this.

The always on thing with a mobile is not the same thing as a console. The mobile uses the always on features(If you've got a data plan) to benefit you the customer at a small price that you pay as a monthly fee. It isn't purely a draconic DRM feature being toted as a "Hey if you're not always online we can't give you access to this or that!" Not to mention the inevitable shutdowns of servers for maintenance, the undeniable hacking's by Anonymous or any other groups who don't agree with this religious zealotry of anti-consumerist practice. That's not even scratching the part where not everyone has a stable internet connection, contrary to popular belief many rural area's are still running on dial up or nearly as shit. Not to mention when inevitable power outages or internet shortages spring up gamers like myself turn to offline modes of play to keep our sanity. Telling me I can't use a console I paid for (With a fair chunk of change) because it has to connect at least once every 24 hours is BULLSHIT, plain and simple.

On another note relating to this "Always On" bs, I don't know how it is down south(I'm Canadian) but my experience with Canadian internet companies tells me when I plan on moving, I tell them 3 months in advance. And guess what? They still manage to *bleep* it up. I've gone weeks without internet despite giving them 2 months forewarning(And they still expected me to pay full price for the month despite having gone without internet for 3 out of the 4 weeks.) So if I had an Xbone, I'd have a blue ray player! HURRAY! Oh, wait...I'd own an Xbone for Gaming purposes...Well shit eh?

Ninmecu - I was referring directly to the people moaning about being spied on by their Xbox One, not the whole debate with it requiring the internet to always be on. Everything is shifting to always on anyway, Microsoft will probably pull the "we decided not to do always on, and you can play the Xbox One offline as normal" so everyone goes, Yay! They listened to us!

HERE'S WHERE PEOPLE SHOULD BE WORRIED.

THE FBI AND NSA DO NOT NEED A WARRANT TO SPY ON U.S. CITIZENS THANKS TO THE PATRIOT ACT AND NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT SIGNED INTO LAW BY BUSH AND OBAMA RESPECTIVELY. AS OF APRIL 24 THE NSA HAS ALL OF VERIZONS CALL DATA FOR EVERY CUSTOMER WHETHER THEY HAVE BEEN SUSPECTED OF COMMITING A CRIME OR NOT. THE CALL DATA INCLUDES EVERYTHING RIGHT DOWN TO YOUR EXACT LOCATION WHEN YOU MADE THAT CALL.

THE FBI IS ALSO PUSHING A BILL THAT WOULD REQUIRE ALL COMPANIES THAT MAKE SERVICES AND DEVICES THAT ALLOW COMMUNICATION TO BE EASIER TO WIRETAP MICROSOFT BEING ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES.

COUPLE THAT WITH THE FACT THAT ALL ELECTRONICS IN THE U.S. MUST FOLLOW FCC LAWS WHICH STATE "THIS DEVICE MUST ACCEPT ANY INTERFERENCE RECEIVED, INCLUDING INTERFERENCE THAT MAY CAUSE ANY UNDESIRED OPERATION." OUR PRIVACY IS *bleep*ED

YOU THINK IT'S NOT TRUE LOOKS IT UP U.S. LEGISLATORS HAVE ADMITTED TO IT IT SAYING "IT'S OK, IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL BECAUSE WE MADE IT A LAW AND WE HAVE BEEN DOING IT SINCE 2007." THEY HAVE ADMITTED TO THEIR CORRUPTION AND DECEIT NO ONE SHOULD BE SITTING HERE THINKING THIS ISN'T A BIG DEAL.

What aeolus sais is true, disregard his caps lock.

What makes this even more disgusting, is that microsoft was the first to gand info over to the nsa back in 2007.

I apologize for the caps, I had an argument with a friends brother about the same issue and it seemed like that was the only way he understood me so I was stuck in that mind set. thanks for the support.

Really, this. Phones can track a lot more than people think. I'm interested in the new technology 'cause I've never seen anything like it before.

Down rated because I explained how the heart rated monitor would work, and said people are over reacting? Wow.

Oh, I see what you did there.

I can see this being a double edged sword though, some liking it and some disliking it. But then again, nothing has been invented yet where everyone has liked it, there's always a down voter. I'm for this, I like the new technology as I said in my previous post.

I guess my complaint would be the leeching thing that Microsoft can do with this, like Tenklis commented. Handing over this info to the NSA is a little controversial in my mind. Thoughts on this being used for non-personal data collection?

Ofcourse the people who dont trust microsoft with this have nothing to worry About anymore because microsoft themselves said they wont, there problem solved

Are some people really that stupid to think that these people will trust MS because of what they say

Butbseriously it is a legitimite issue, and i already know microsoft cant be trusted

Riiiiiiight, because good ol' Microsoft would never collect user data without your permission.
I miss the good old days when I could own a video game console without worrying about it seeing me naked. Let alone have it monitoring my heart rate, that's just disturbing.
