The more and more I hear about this game, the less and less I want it. What happened to Saints Row?

That means it's going to be over $100 over here, $150 most....WAIT, does that mean Johnny Gat is going to back in this installment?
I've not been keeping up with this as of late.

intoxication Fans think he may not actually be dead. I wouldn't put anything past Volition at this point, so I'm not going to assume one way or another.

Peace-Child Pre-SR3 clearly wasn't working out. The third installment actually did so financially well, however, that it warranted a direct sequel.

Can't keep making games that don't support themselves, unfortunately.

Fans just think that because they all want him back - the question would be, if he wasn't dead, where was he in the rest of SR3??

It would be interest to see how THQ write Gat back in - not that SR has been known for storylines.

SR 1 was GTA minus the originality, a bit zany and interesting in some of the story missions but mostly forgettable.

SR2 upped the ante and (in my opinion) was much better put forward. Still has a GTA feel but with it's own flair. Especially with GTA4 being the closest contender for a backdrop. SR2 had it's moments of sheer WTF-ness without being unabashedly pants-on-head-retarded. It had an entertaining story line with fun(Except for that sewer chucking one) mini games of a diverse nature. It had a nice "This is your town to take on and enjoy at your hearts content" kind of feel.

SR3...Well, it's the only game I've ever returned for a second hand trade in. Needless to say, I didn't like the kiddy appeal of it, the lackluster storyline and the dramatic screamings of "LOOK HOW AWESOMELY OVER THE TOP WE ARE MUAHAHAHAHA" (Outside of Murder Time Fun Time! with Professor Genki). That being said, I'm obviously not the target audience for SR4 or the remainder of the SR series as a whole anymore-and that sucks but I'll live.

OT:It /looks/ interesting, but re-iterating what I already said, the game doesn't interest me so I can't really add to the pieces conversation.

RabidChinaGirl That's a shame really. Not only for the series, but for the sake of gaming in general. Though I'm sure they learned the pattern to making the games sell better, just from the sales of SR1 to SR2 was to up the craziness, it's really lost what made Saints Row Saints Row, and if players are really desiring games with unoriginal pop-culture references, childish humor and rehashed graphics, then I really don't think this industry is getting better anytime soon.

Long Story Short; SR's fanbase consists mostly of people who are or act like 13 year-olds who think giant purple dongs and farts are the funniest thing in the world, which I wish it wasn't.

Actually, I really enjoyed SR3.

No, I didn't run around with the dong bat, wearing purple boxers or something. I did, however, make my Saint into an awesome lookin' spy lady that dual-wields machine guns. Because I can, and it's a lot of fun. SR3 was a game you could go crazy in, or not go crazy, depending on your preferences. There was absolutely no pressure attached, which is a huge draw for me.

farts and purple dong-bats are pretty low but people being set on fire is fun at any age though my favorite is exploding people

I played SR3 as a Pirate Saint.....who sets worlds on fire and decides that doing wrestling moves on different people on the street is fun.

Now...with SR4....I'mma take it to the next level......Minus the dubstep and me getting teh LI though.
