Relic Entertainment kicks off the Company of Heroes 2 open beta today, and it'll run all the way through June 18. During that time, participants can reach up to level 45, and all progress may be retained for the full release. Pretty sweet deal, right?
Basically, your progress will be tied to your Steam account, so you can just keep all of that when the full game comes out if you play on the same account -- and I can't imagine why you wouldn't be. Ina ddition to 45 levels, beta participants can also check out the bulletin system, co-op and competitive online play, and six of the game's maps.
I imagine Company of Heroes fans may want to check out some of the new gameplay innovations too, particularly the ColdTech weather system and TrueSight, which affect your visibility in the game. What, with weather on the Eastern Front being so awful.
The original game remains one of the highest rated RTS games in history. Here's hoping the second game lives up to expectations.
