A lot of mystery surrounds Murdered: Soul Suspect. We don't even know who is developing the game, though it's certainly Square Enix publishing it. Keeping it real, another mysterious teaser was released via Twitter today (everyone loves these social media teasers). The not-so-subtle-teaser's password, when input into Murdered's special evidence site, reveals a short video. Err, the video is... well, mysterious.
Here's the text of the Twitter message, from which the password should be readily apparent:
disTUrbing nEw evidence fileS in archive. how Does this relAte to the case?— Murdered (@Murdered) June 3, 2013
Despite the clear absence of the letter "Y" the password turned out to be "Tuesday." Starting with that, the obvious assumption is that we'll be getting more information on Murdered: Soul Suspect tomorrow, or potentially a trailer, right? Tuesday being tomorrow, it doesn't seem like the rabbit whole should go very far. Not much incentive to solve an ARG when the prize is going to be provided the next day.
Still, the rabbit hole does get deeper. When the password is input into Murdered: Soul Suspect's evidence it gives access to a short video clip. The video is a single frame, but the audio is some zany, likely reversed, garbled nonsense. It's beyond the time and effort I was willing to put into it, but perhaps someone else can figure it out. Is the image a constellation of bullet holes? Is the number of bullet holes significant?
Mysteries. Hopefully we'll hear more about Murdered: Soul Suspect tomorrow... or maybe next week at E3? Head over to the evidence site, put in "Tuesday" as the password and check out the video for yourself. Either way, it'll hit current gen consoles in 2014.
