Hooray! It appears as if all of the Sonic Lost World details that were exclusive to some other site yesterday have been released for the rest of us today. Today's details confirm that the 3DS/Wii U exclusive title will include, alongside a single player adventure, a "range of competitive multiplayer modes." On top of that, early story details confirm that it's none other than Dr. Eggman behind devious group known as the Deadly Six.
Here's a snippet taken from the press release related to Sonic Lost World's storyline:
"Dr. Eggman has harnessed the power of six menacing creatures known as the Deadly Six, but when the Deadly Six rise up against their master, Sonic has to unite with his arch nemesis in order to take on the new enemies head-to-head."
Oh no, we actually have to team up with Dr. Butthead? I can't even stand that guy as an enemy, let alone a full game of teaming up with him. At least six new enemy bosses should keep things interesting.
As for the competitive multiplayer, Nintendo and Sega say that some of the modes will focus on the exclusive tech behind the Wii U and 3DS. This includes exclusive Wii U Color Powers that can be controlled with the GamePad's tilting and touching. There will also be special stages and Color Powers for the 3DS as well.
Sonic Lost World will ship out later this year exclusively for the Wii U and 3DS, as per the three-game partnership between Sega and Nintendo. Make sure to check out yesterday's official gameplay debut trailer if you haven't already. Also, screenshots from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game below.
