For those that missed this earlier in the week, Elder Scrolls Online will have a $15/mo fee.

I hope its for PS3 And XBOX 360
I am not sure if those systems could handle it they would need more than 1 disc which would make it litearlly impossible/ too annoying to play online. Imagine your friend inviting you to play for a while but hes on disc 4 or 5 while you are on disc 1 it would be too much hassle.

I'm so excited for this! It's like all the good bits of MMOs without any crap. Glad that they're putting in both the first and third person - it just wouldn't be elder scrolls without it.
Yeah, without first person I wouldn't even consider getting it. Not until it went F2P anyway.

Though I expect First Person is modified a bit to conform to MMO standards.

The lore behind it needs to bring a strong community of RP'ers. Then I would play it. Other than that I cant help but feel by basing it with elder scrolls the overhype and over expectations are going to kill it before it walks. Skyrim was extremely hyped and alot of people left it quite soon after release.

Pvp that matters wouldn't do any harm either.

Although MMOs have hit an all time low- it has to be said. New MMOs coming out are dead within months, P2P are going F2P, expectations are too high and generally MMOs are being rushed to fill in the blanks but only making the blanks wider.
I hope they take time and release it when its worthy of release and dont rush for money.

Seriously, I am sick of the people who keep complaining that this is not elder scrolls. The VAST majority of all of you want the next Skyrim, well, BETHESDA is working on that. Zenimax Online is making and ONLINE version of the ES series. If you dont like it, then wait for Bethesda to announce the next ES game in the series.
If you STILL dont get it: Bethesda is working on the single player versions of their IPs (aka: games, for those who are mentally challenged) and Zenimax Online is working on an MMO version of their IPs. Two seperate development groups.
If TESO being an mmo doesnt appeal to you. Then ignore it and go back to playing Skyrim until Bethesda releases the next game in the series. For those who look forward to an ES themed MMO, then I look forward to seeing you in game.
Bethesda is owned by Zenimax as it were and you would be lying to yourself if you believed there was not a very large and significant amount of cross developemnt between the two regarding Elder Scrolls. its Bethesda's baby after all. And now because of that, money, man hours, and time are being used on an MMO which will likely tie up significant resources during development. and Then significant maintenance after its released. not to mention DLC etc. This all detracts from 'actual' and 'canon' releases that, as you said, are also being developed. So not only are they using resources to make this game but it has no real connection to the story that has been painstakingly told over multiple games. So it IS just an MMO with a Elderscrolls paint job in essence.

Now as for you misguided need to point out that if we dont like it then ignore it policy, I have this to say. If this MMO is a flop it could very well mean that they will have to stop development of their other gam at the very least temporarily and worst permenantly. If not it will have less budget and for AAA games thats directly correlated to its polish and effort put into it. No one wants that now do they?

Lastly people can complain all they want that this isnt 'an Elder Scrolls game' all they want. I mean if it looks like a duck and quacks like one then stop telling me its a chicken and to ignore it.

I think I'll be giving it a shot. Not a die-hard Elder Scrolls fan, so I can't see myself too disappointed!
