It's fitting that the first words in Destiny's live action/cinematic "The Law of the Jungle" trailer are, "Pay attention." That's exactly what each of us is likely to do, not because Destiny asked us to, but because anything Destiny-related demands it. From what we've seen of next-gen so far, with both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One announcements behind us, Destiny is by far the most compelling project ahead of us. Pay attention? You don't even have to say it, Bungie.
"The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack."
Sure, it's a little overacted and quite a bit over-dramatic, but for a trailer that's only 60-seconds long I wish I could give an Oscar to the guy narrating the story and another award to whoever wrote it, and maybe another to the team behind the CG. Every second of this trailer is great. Damn, it's been a long time since I fanboyed out like this.
Perhaps why it strikes me as so perfect is because I'm such a huge fan of team oriented gameplay. I play MOBAs, I love MMOs, but can't really stand the solo-experience. If Destiny can create an experience that fully embraces "The Law of the Jungle" then they'll have won me over. Who am I kidding, they've already won me over.
Expect more of Destiny at E3, including the worldwide gameplay reveal at the PlayStation E3 press conference on June 10, 2013. Destiny is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2014.
