Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that Mortal Kombat (that's Mortal Kombat 9 from 2011) will be coming to PC. Yes, NetherRealm Entertainment's reboot of the popular fighting game franchise is finally coming to PC -- albeit two years later. On top of that, the edition released will be the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition which packages the game with all if its post-released DLC content -- skins and characters and junk. Expect it to release digitally on July 3.
Here's a shortlist of what will be packaged into the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition out of the box, in addition to the standard game:
- 4 DLC Characters - Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger
- 15 Klassic Mortal Kombat Skins
- 3 Klassic Fatalities
Of course, all of the DLC wil lcome on top of all the standard Mortal Kombat content which includes Tag Team, Challenge Tower, and one of the most robust story modes in a fighting game ever. Also, punching through dudes' heads.
There you go, everybody. By the time a game you're interested in is content complete and coming to your platform of choice, the developer will have already moved on to another game, where it can sell more DLC. Still, with Mortal Kombat coming to PC on July 3, that gives them about a week to prepare for EVO 2013! PC master race, I have high expectations.
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition will be digitall available on PC starting July 3, while the retail edition will hit shelves on August 2.
