That... actually looks pretty interesting. I don't expect any mind-blowing innovations, but it looks like it could be a pretty cool installment in the series. I guess time will tell.

I'm not a huge fan of Call of Duty (mostly due to said lack of innovation), and I certainly have no intentions of buying into this one full-price, but I'm interested in the supposedly new focus on emotional storytelling. Given, we've heard that one before and been burned before (looking at you, Medal of Honor Warfighter). I've typically found the CoD campaigns enjoyable, however, if not the most enthralling pieces of narrative.

I've always been into the Call of Duty campaigns (my favorite being MW2) for the graphics, gameplay, and realism of the fighting forces. This campaign looks pretty interesting.

Though, the campaigns are always centered around some elite group of U.S. and British special forces. I'd really like to see the more conventional military units in the game. Such as airborne infantry or an Army infantry unit. Part of the reason I loved Battlefield 3 so much was because of its representation of a conventional marine infantry unit and armored battalion. Though, there was the interesting plot involving Russian Spetsnaz GRU operators (GRU being Russian special forces also represented in multiple Call of Duty games).

I did see in the trailer a Russian vehicle used in Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 3 called the GAZ Tiger. It is in current use by the Russian Ground Forces. I'm just assuming the enemy is the Russians....again.

It's hard to have an interesting, realistic game featuring conventional forces.
Actually- scratch that-
It's hard to have a Call of Duty with conventional forces. Call of Duty is to video games what Michael Bay is to movies. They use real weapons and people- but in an over-the-top everything-is-explosions way. It's not bad- it's just unrealistic.
Mostly because people don't want to play guard duty, cards with the boys, and complaining about the heat.
I did have some Call of Duty-esque firefights in Afghanistan- almost every day, in fact- but 80% of my time was sitting around.

Plus, there would be almost no weapon selection.

The most interesting thing I gathered from this new Call of Duty was destructible online maps, that can change how the map originally starts out. That and the dog was the only new things I saw, oh and the 'lean-out-from-cover firing mode' which was recycled from Far Cry/Battlefield. Other than that, it's gonna be the same ole fish in the creek, except prettier. lol

I think this will definitely be the most interesting storyline for CoD. I like the whole WE(America) are the underdogs fighting for survival. I love the remnants of the military Special Forces...I do hope that includes everything...no doubt there will be SEALs and Airborne Rangers,
