Making people pre-order to get the whole package is still evil, in my humble opinion.

This infuriates me.

Screw you Ubisoft.

Oh Ubisoft!! How satisfying it'll be when someone cracks it all for PC.

If you offer a part of a game as a pre-order or day 1 DLC, you're gonna have a bad time. Though, in all seriousness, go do some certain things with a bag of certain body parts Ubisoft.

Well crap, that puts a lot of people into a bad position.

Being the perfectionist I am, I'd probably die without the goddamn locked stuff, so I'm forced to pre-order the game. And what if it's not very good? $60 down the drain.
That's just tasteless.

Lol
People would have pirated it anyway even if it didn't include the DLC mission

This is true. However, the only way to get the whole package now is to pirate the game (or pre-order two copies, one from Amazon and one from Gamestop).

While I despise store exclusives, you need to understand that with stores like Amazon and Gamstop, the size that they are, if they want/insist on exclusive, I don't think there's a lot that Ubisoft can do but to bend over. Unless of of course they don't want these stores stocking the games, and as a publisher, I don't there's one out there that could afford that kind luxury.

In the end it's gamers are the one that loses out.

If this is the case, it's news to me. Especially with how poorly Gamestop is doing.

No such things are done by publishers in order to try combating used games sales.

I will never understand people who complain about minor pre-order bonuses. It's a nice little incentive to get people to lock in buying their game earlier on. Nothing wrong with wanting to get more customers by giving MORE to those who commit early.

And it's not even like you need to put down all of the money at once. Give GameStop a 5 dollar deposit, pay for the rest when you come to pick up the game.

1. What about international customers? What if you decide to cancel? You would lose your five bucks because they made a poor game (why else would you cancel?).

2. It is still immoral to make people buy your product without proving that it will be of quality. That's why we invented reviewing the first place, so people can know they're not buying junk.

3. Awesome games sell anyway. I bought Dragon Age: Origins a long time after it came out. Why did I buy it? Because someone told me it was awesome, not because it had free DLC (which it did, and it was really awesome DLC too). And why does everyone like the Playstation 4 now? Because they're a) not assholes and b) have good games. People WILL appreciate companies that don't sucker them into anything.

As with the other pack, I won't be able to buy anything more expensive than the base game. Unemployment sucks.
