It wouldn't be Wolfenstein unless it was packed full of Nazis, which according to Bethesda and MachineGames' new batch of screenshots and concept art is exactly what Wolfenstein: The New Order is. Terrifying Nazi officers all in black leather, Nazi stormtroopers, Nazi robocops and even Nazi robot dogs. Nazi Germania, Nazi London, we can probably assume Wolfenstein: The New Order features an entire Nazi world. What are we getting ourselves into?
I'm glad E3 is starting to come around, as I'm looking forward to a bit deeper of a look at Wolfenstein. Right now, we can tell they're going for a certain look and feel, but it's difficult to tell exactly what kind of game MachineGames is going for. Are we looking at a Dishonored type of semi-open world exploration, Call of Duty linearity, BioShock narrative, or who knows? At best we can assume Wolfenstein: The New Order is a throwback to the classic kill-a-lot-of-Nazis style of gameplay.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is planned for release in Q4 of 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No current next-gen announcement, but then again, what do we really know about the game in the first place?
