I assume this is a game from a little while ago, because I've barely heard of it. As in, it only slightly rings a bell when I hear the name.

It's going on Steam so I guess I won't miss it's debut.

Don't forget to add the game to your collections 'want' list if you haven't already

The problem is Microsoft still owns the licensing rights for Shadowrun games, so as mentioned in the VG24/7 article, any future releases on other platforms would require a new negotiation with MS. Realistically, I don't see MS allowing it to be released on a Nintendo or Sony platform, but perhaps we'll see in on XBLA down the road. And it's already planned to be released on tablets.

Anyway, I'm so excited for Shadowrun! So glad I backed this.. Kinda wish I could've contributed more.

bluexy Someone on the SR Universe forums noticed that the VG 24/7 has now been edited to say "will come out later this year". There's no longer mention of the specific June 26th date, so perhaps the author didn't get an official date from HBS.

daveyd Weird. WEIRD. I could have sworn I saw a Twitter message from Harebrained schemes pointing to that article with a release date, but that's gone now too.

That really sux that the date keeps getting pushed back and they are so tight lipped. Steam is sticking to a June date and with the tight lips, usually means another delay. Can't remember how long ago I bought this, it's kind of like the above poster who can only fainly recall the original.

It is good, that does mean that they are putting their time into getting everything just right, more that we can say for EA or Ubosft who has made it standard practice to release all the biggest titles in beta for a month.

OR this could be a bad sign regarding their funding having run out a long time ago and they have been scraping by to just get it out before kickstarter (Honestly... I have no clue if they are involved with kickstarter here, sorry) gives them the boot on future releases for such an oversight. Certainly prefer the first scenario and I am really looking forward to this, especially when the devs talk about fan made mods that will keep it alive for another decade, that would be a great thing for them and everyone involved.

It's one of those things that if you didn't have to repeat it over and over and over til your parents hit you over the head with a frying pan that you wouldn't know it starts out as... and she'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes...

No bad, just wanted to pass that on in case I might infect you again with that addicting little ditty

Hey, what's up with all the adds? I can't read the forum through all the adds stuck to my browser! Gotta be a better way... and even though you opt out of them every few months, they never go away, like a bad habit. Thought they were supposed to respect you wishes to not want any of their adds, not just the random one that pops up... or do you have to opt out of all of their adds individually. They are getting really sneaky and I'm getting old knowing how many white horse she'll be riding round the corner when she comes...lol

It's that damn senior syndicate, I mean, AARP. Adblock doesn't seem to be helping all that much with these new ones. Stupid mirrors

mtwonshend1 They're not really being tight-lipped. Harebrained Schemes staff said very recently on twitter and the Shadowrun Universe forums that they are still on track for a late June release date. They just aren't ready to announce an exact release date yet, because they want it to be as bug-free and polished as possible. The editor was just released a couple days ago to the early access Kickstarter backers ($250) which means they are very close to being finished...

The only reason the game was pushed back from the original estimated release date of Q1 2013 was because they totally expanded what the game was going to be after surpassing their funding goal (i.e., originally it was going to be a 2D top-down game, now it has 3D characters in an 2.5D isometric world).
