I am disapointed that avalanche never got to make an open world Star Wars game. Just Cause 2 is one of the most fun sandbox games money can buy. Oh well back to waiting for Just Cause 3(hopefully).

Using the force to launch yourself 50 feet in the air while simultaneously force lightning starships and using your lightsaber to cut off the crust from the bread sounds incredible. Nothing EA could do will ever amount to this. What was my quote about god again? Yeah.....

You do know EA ahd to sell all their staff souls to get that deal right? and you know that was the reason for the massive lay off? empty shells that cant do shit was what remained afteral EA got the deal.

Because of the way megapublishers own everything currently.

Don't worry I think the evidence is there that their nonsustainable buisness practices are catching up.

So... LucasArts is gone, 1313 is stuck in limbo, EA now has publishing rights to the series, and now we get jipped with an open-world Star Wars game, from the people who made Just Cause 2 no less.

Please add more salt to this wound.

I'd not have minded Avalanche giving it a go, since they showed they could make a game fairly nice looking like this one, but I've had so many bad experiences with the "big concept" space games lately that I'm not sure it'd be horribly fun, especially if there was any form of space travel and so forth.

To be frank, I'd much prefer Star Wars be what Star Wars was meant to be; a story, one where you have some choices but follow a general path. The whole open world thing doesn't come well with good story telling, I've found, and I'd prefer a game that had some RPG and some options to it but still FELT like you were being told a story. It's why I love Bioware's RPGs so much -- they've found a fairly good way of meeting the two, and some examples, like Dragon Age: Origins, only needed to be fleshed out and broadened a bit to be truly a mesh of what I want between the stories and the worlds you are given in a game.

The only one who's happy about the Star Wars EA deal is my wallet, now I won't have to buy any Star Wars games for a long time. I'm sorry KOTOR was good, but EA has imposed that 18-month cycle on on games, and it has ruined anything Bioware used to be. Trying to come out with a game on an 18 month cycle is just ridiculous.
