Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX won't be released until September 10, but that won't stop the franchise's rabid audience from devouring any news about the game they can. Here's one more juicy morsel to sate fans' anticipation. Square Enix just announced the pre-order bonus for the game, a limited edition 24-page hardcover art book featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the franchise.
Considering that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (damn, does the title have to be so long and awkward) won't even retail for full price, coming in as a PlayStation 3 exclusive at $39.99, that's quite the bonus for pre-ordering. Generally speaking, most pre-order bonuses are cheapo $2 DLC additions that will turn your Batman into old Batman or maybe even Catbatman. While 24 pages is a lot when it comes to an art book, that's still high quality for a pre-order bonus.
Keep in mind Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX doesn't add any new content to the series. It's simply an HD rerelease of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories with enhance gameplay, in addition to HD cinematics from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Nevertheless, considering Square Enix is sitting on the sequel everyone wants, this should be an outstanding release.
