Fuse has undergone quite a few changes since its inception. A newfound serious tone may not be as immediately appealing as the lighthearted humor of the previous version, but Insomniac obviously believes in the changes. To prove Fuse's worth, Insomniac and EA are putting their money where their mouth is and releasing a free demo today and a new trailer to boot.
Straight away in the trailer it's clear that despite the more mature themes in Fuse, it still doesn't particularly take itself seriously. Giant robots shooting lasers, jokes about scientists being blown away by robots shooting lasers, jumping out of exploding helicopters destroyed by robots shooting lasers. Fuse sets itself up as a fun co-op adventures, same as before. It's just a bit more... intense, I suppose. Brotastic, if you will.
Fuse will be available via retail starting May 28 in North America and May 31 in Europe for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The four-player co-op tiles from Insomniac Games feels like its been a long time coming, so in the mean time check out the demo which should be available for download starting today.
