Rockstar has been slowly going through its back catalog of video games to release on the PlayStation Store, especially in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Now it may go a little further than the PS2 era, as a recent ESRB rating shows the first two Grand Theft Auto games for the PS3, Vita, and PSP. The first GTA received a Mature rating, while GTA2 got the more lenient Teen rating.
Nothing definitive has come from anyone at Rockstar about this ESRB rating. In fact, the ESRB may have jumped the gun a little as neither game shows up anymore. Rockstar may just want to wait for a better time to announce the games, especially since the newest GTA V trailers just debuted yesterday. When (or if) there's confirmation on the games, expect to find them listed in the PSOne Classics area of the PS Store.
Both GTA and GTA2 are top-down, 2D games, with the first releasing in 1997 and the second in 1999. The first game features Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas, while the second is set in an unknown city composed of three different districts. GTA2 also featured various gangs you could do missions for, plus the ability to do different side missions as a taxi, bus, or semi-truck driver.
