Warner Bros. sent out the announcement this morning that Turbine's Infinite Crisis MOBA would be starting closed beta on May 8. Combining heroes and villains from an announced six "core" universes, Infinite Crisis will allow players to battle Batman against Batman, Joker against Joker, and probably also Joker against Batman, if you're boring.
Closed Beta will mark the first time a good portion of Infinite Crisis' audience will get their hands on the game. As such, depending on how heavily Turbine NDAs the beta, we should start hearing news on mechanics and balance soon. Can Gaslight Catwoman 1v1 Doomsday? The world deserves to know.
In addition to the beta announcement, a new teaser image was sent out featuring three Wonder Women -- similar to the initial Batman teaser with Batman Prime, Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Batman. This new Wonder Woman teaser features the currently announced Prime version of the heroine, but also Wonder Woman from two universes yet to have characters announced from them as of yet. Introducing Atomic Wonder Woman (Earth-17) and Mecha Wonder Woman (Earth-44).
Atomic Earth is a planet torn from nuclear war, a nuclear war that started when baby Kal-El's spaceship was mistaken for a nuclear bomb -- thus starting mutually assured destruction. Mecha Earth had no heroes at all until the Justice Consortium built them out of metal and electronics. Yes, these two Wonder Women will fit in nicely.
