A LinkedIn profile for Michael Shahan has popped up with a listing of interest to BioShock Infinite fans. Marked under the sub-line "BioShock Infinite DLC 1" is the statement: "Providing animation and R&D for a new AI companion character". Michael's a Senior Animator at 2K Games and the apparently the "primary animation resource" for BioShock Infinite's DLC. He's not an Irrational Games employee, but who makes their own DLC these days, anyway?
Most of us who have played BioShock Infinite won't find this news surprising, at least in the sense that Elizabeth wouldn't fit in the role again. It would disappointing to waste all that excellent AI tech that Irrational built for the main game, however, so new companion it is. Wherever 2K ends up taking the BioShock Infinite DLC, at least we won't be alone in our adventure.
BioShock Infinite is now available on the main current-gen platforms -- PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game's first DLC has yet to be officially announced as of yet, though we do know there are two pieces of story-related content planned, in addition all costumes and weapons and item upgrades. Typical pre-order, DLC stuffs... and it's all available in a Season Pass too, if that's your thing.
P.S. Calling it now, BioShock Infinite: Blood Dragon.
