Update: The man himself, Ed Boon, has confirmed that Lobo will be available starting May 7. No pricing details as of yet.
NetherRealm Studios is currently running an Injustice: Gods Among Us panel at C2E2, the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. Fan in the audience were treated with a surprise as Lobo was officially unveiled as Injustice's first downloadable addition to the roster. A trailer showcasing Lobo space-biker gameplay was showcased, which also teases a new Batman costume, too.
Lobo, according to my cursory research, is an alien bounty hunter initially introduced as a villain in the 80s only to reemerge as some sort of biker anti-hero in the 90s. Apparently Lobo's origins have been rewritten in the New 52, making him a slaver who slaughtered his entire race -- except for the Princess he has fallen for. Injustice's Lobo definitely seems like the 90s version of the character, but who knows what DC is really up to anymore.
No release information for Lobo has been announced from what we've heard, but any news breaks we'll be sure to update the story soon. Injustice: Gods Among Us is currently available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. Check out the space biker that kind of looks like Mel Gibson from Road Warrior in clown make-up in the trailer below.
