Ah, here's a refreshing opportunity to show off Dragon's Crown without reigniting the controversy. Atlus and Vanillaware released a new trailer and several screenshots featuring the playable Elf character. Unlike a majority of the other playable characters in Dragon's Crown, the Elft looks relatively normal for a high fantasy adventure. She has a bow, wear's a tunic and boots. Here we get a dose of pure, uncontroversial epic brawler action.
Unfortunately, the audio in the trailer is all Japanese. This means that perhaps I'm completely wrong and the Elf is one of the most controversial characters in the game. What if the audio is saying how the Elf is a terrible, racist creature out to genocide the other races in the game. Her bow is made from the bones of her parents and her arrows the sinew of her pets. Dear me, what have I done.
Dragon's Crown will be coming exclusively to Sony's PlayStation 3 and Vita platforms on August 6. Hopefully this Elf feature is just the first of a series of trailers for Dragon's Crown's playable characters. If Atlus knows what they're doing, they'll translate them to English ASAP in order to help the greater gaming community better relate. Right now, all we know of these characters is their appearance, and as the controversy shows, that's not going so well.
