No matter what game we're talking about, if guns are involved, you can bet a multiplayer mode will be added. Granted, Lost Planet is no stranger to multiplayer, and Capcom is bringing it back for Lost Planet 3. That must mean people enjoyed it, right?
So here are the first details for the Lost Planet 3 multiplayer, along with a handy video to give you all a better idea of how it'll work. At launch, you can expect four modes across six maps; likely including a sort of "Horde" mode, which has somehow become a multiplayer staple over the last few years thanks to Gears of War.
Two of these modes, "Scenario" and "Akrid Survival", are showcased in today's video. Here's a breakdown of each:
Scenario Mode sets each team a series of either offensive or defensive challenges and mixes them up with the extreme and unpredictable conditions of E.D.N. III. Players can compete in both third person on-foot action and in first person combat using the futuristic Vital Suits, making this a dynamic gameplay experience.
Akrid Survival sees two teams of three players compete independently of each other in a series of encounters against waves of hostile Akrid before the teams go head to head in a final PvP elimination round.
In multiplayer, you can choose from either the NEVEC forces or the Snow Pirates. Not that you should expect anything different. We also anticipate a more robust character customization system.
