Activision and Treyarch confirmed today that the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC, "Uprising," will be headed to PC and PS3 on May 16. That's one month after the DLC's Xbox 360 debut, just as predicted. At least they've become consistent about these DLC releases.
Anyway, the "Uprising" add-on brings with it four new maps to multiplayer:
- Magma takes place in a modern Japanese village with volcanic eruptions carving multiple paths through the town.
- Encore happens in the aftermath of a desert London music festival, with a focus on CQC.
- Vertigo is a futuristic high rise in India with a high-tech lab and tiered pathways.
- Studio is a remake of "Firing Range" from the first Black Ops, set in a Hollywood back lot with cinematic themes.
The real show-stealer here, however, is likely Mob of the Dead, a different take on Black Ops' Zombies sub-mode Call of the Dead. This one works the same way, but you're thrown back to Alcatraz in the 1920's, where four mobsters find themselves fighting for their lives against a prison full of ravenous zombies. Exciting stuff. And just like in Call of the Dead, the four playable characters are all inspired by real-life celebs; in this case, we've got actors who typically play mobsters on TV or in movies.
