I really hope you can just take screenshots and not just videos with the share button, and if the videos don't upload to a more public service like YouTube then I'll be pretty sad. I have a feeling that all videos will be hosted on Sony servers and you wont really be able to have easy access to them

tekmosis Yup! Some of what they've shown includes screenshots. Not sure about the Youtube thing, they haven't discussed their streaming or upload services and partnerships yet. They'd be dumb not to have everything work with Youtube, though.

The only thing about this controller's ridiculous "Share" button that I like so far is how it marks and end to the torrent of shitty YouTube videos of children playing videogames. Sure, if we assume you can upload videos to YouTube, there'll be a spike in them. But once even more children upload videos of them talking over themselves playing video games, the genre of video will become even more stale, too stale, even, for children. Then, and only then will those channels finally die.

All glory to the Dual Shock 4 Controller, may it's Shockwave eye all guide us to a YouTube that's a less shitty place to be around.

On PSVita, R1, or R2 can do the screenshot function while playing a game. So, I hope if 'share button' doesn't do screen shot share function, the aforementioned buttons will do.

Just Cause 2 had a direct upload to YouTube feature that I don't think was present on the Xbox360 version (?)

It made the game for me. Tandem 747 dances using the zip cord and rocket manning into the stratosphere by clawing a propane tank we're at least 3x more satisfying knowing I caught it on video.

Hawx and Noby Noby boy also had the youtube feature, I believe, though neither of those games deserved it. >=\

Looks a little different from the previous PS controllers but nevertheless not a bad transition. I am wondering how the thumbsticks will feel for me versus the way they were before, probably nothing much different.

Thinking more about the controller I do believe it could be more good than bad. Overall it looks very fancy and has a lot of promise.

I'm still torn with the share feature though. I'm really hoping it's not going to be all uploaded to YouTube, I know some people would love that but there's only so many times you can see a headshot in Call of Duty followed by a T-bagging before getting bored of the same things being done over and over.

In some ways it can be amazing if you caught a pretty cool glitch or found a little easter egg that hasn't been uploaded yet but I still think that day 1 of launch there will be a good few thousand videos on YouTube uploaded of a death in a game, a silly glitch or random faffing about to see if the feature works and then the internet will be filled with more shit. The main reason this bothers me so much is because I'm one of the people who has a capture card and spent a lot of money on fancy gadgets to share videos and little sketches and for all that to be done on PS4 so simply is first of all impressive but secondly annoying because of the people who do this sort of thing professionally being outdone by kids who don't know arse from elbow uploading a video from a button.

The share button makes me think of LittleBigPlanet and how they're going to exploit it. In the future of their games I predict they will make the share button essential to acquiring trophies with little things such as "share a video of LittleBigPlanet3: Rise of the Revenge on YouTube and get a million likes" hopefully it doesn't go down that road.

I like the idea of adding touchpads as long as they work and aren't just thrown in for the sake of it. A game that implements the touching functions well is Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the Vita, though nothing truly groundbreaking that the 3DS can't do it makes use of the pads but I do think that is mostly due to the actual Vita having 4 main buttons less than the standard Dualshock 3. Not overly fond of the speakers though, it would be pretty cool to have little bits fly by but I know the audio quality will be awful and won't help with gaming.

The vast majority of gamers wear headphones and I see the controller has an headphone output and I feel that it won't be used by people who do the stuff who are the "typical gamer." The shiny blue bit is going to be a waste of time and I feel that in co-operative games that are split screen (LMAO, yeah right... I can't even name 10 games on PS3 that are worth mentioning that have split screen capabilities) - so passing a controller over will switch the screen around, sounds promising but what about those people who are for example the dipsticks who do racing games and actually steer the controller and wave it all over the place with no need to do so?

I feel like I'm nit picking and I don't want to, I'm excited for what will come but curious as to how they will work and hopefully not *bleep* it up. So hopefully you won't read this thinking it's a rant. I'm just awkward is all.
