Surely not hard to do but promising nonetheless. I'm hoping there is a good variety of titles and not just a ton of games from a single genre that are all fighting for day one sales. I'm already feeling sorry for Guerilla Games who may just be launching Killzone 4 alongside Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 on PS4, it'd be even worse if more FPS games are lined up as launch titles as well.

I'd better see Kingdom hearts 3 (or at least 2HD) on that lineup. If the JRPGs aren't good enough, I may just not get the PS4, considering I already don't much want one.

A few cross gen titles, a couple of digital games and one or two rushed launched games and done. At best it'll be perfectly adequate. Vita might have been the only console/handheld that wasn't totally subpar to downright terrible with Uncharted and Gravity Daze.

I honestly, off the top of my head, can't think of any really exceptional launch lineups in the past. So I could see this being an easy claim to make.

Honestly, the launch titles and games being announced for the first year are what will decide whether I get a PS4 or new Xbox.

History has proven time and time again that the real meat of games don't start coming in until 2 years after release, usually because now developers are working on final specs and have had more time to really crank out what the console is capable of. So yeh, I'm getting a PS4, just not anytime soon unless they drop bombs

Nah...PlayStation consoles always mature with time, so I expect a few good games NOT great games during the first year or so!

Oh, yeah. It's got a Wipeout game, by developers who never worked on the franchise before. It's got a Killzone game, just without the tech that made it any interesting. It's got an inFamous game, by the people who sold the company to Sony and then changed the entire style of the award-winning designs they had with the Sly Cooper games. They've got PC games in low resolution and half detail. And they have timed exclusives that they paid money for - just so the developer should initially limit the market of the multiplatform game they made!

Yes, this is going to be the greatest launch in console history. Like the Titanic of consoles. The Hindenburg! Soaring through the sky!

Still saving my $$$, hope there aren't too many good release games, already allowing $$ for gta5, bf4, killzone and hopefully a new final fantasy and another rockstar release.

Launch? Nope.

The launch lineup for PlayStation 4 -- though I unfortunately can’t give the title count -- is going to be stronger than any prior PlayStation hardware. And that's a result of that familiarity.

Lol

It has Infamous as a launch title and because of that it makes it the best launch for Sony.
GameCube still has the best launch lineup though.

I get the disappointment but the PS3 is 8 going on 9 years old, the console is 3-4 years older than PS2 was when it was replaced by PS3, so this generation has already gone on longer than any in recent memory. It is a shame that the PS4 is out so soon after you bought a PS3, but that is unfortunately a risk you take by buying so late into a generation.
