Telltale Games dropped some Twitter bombs this morning, revealing the release dates for Poker Night at the Inventory 2 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 an PC. Normally, companies put off release a week or so in order to line up release dates, but Telltale's all like, "Nah, man, get this game out there. The people need it!." As such, expect it on XBLA on the 24, Steam on the 26, and PSN on the 30. It's $5, so buy it already.
If you didn't already know, Poker Night at the Inventory 2 is a game where you play poker with video game and nerd culture icons like Claptrap from Borderlands 2, Sam from Sam & Max, and others. Only, it's not really about playing poker, so much as interacting with these characters in a fun way that you'd otherwise never experience. Ever seen Strong Bad argue with Tycho from Penny Arcade? Yeah, that happens.
Poker Night at the Inventory 2 is going to be hilarious and it's exciting to think about the upgrades they've made to the experience. The original title was just a few dudes playing poker and cracking jokes. The sequel could be the same and I'd still love it, but from the screenshots we've seen, it looks like they might have some new toys and tricks to try out this time around. Things are never what you expect when Glados is around.
Expect Poker Night at the Inventory 2 on your platform of choice soon: XBLA on the 24, PC via Steam on the 26, and PSN on the 30. Telltale also teased an iOS app store release, but more details on that will have to wait until a later date.
