It does look like a TV spot, I hope to see a few commercials pop up on the TV. Only 3 days until the trailers of Michael, Franklin and Trevor.

Tec 9 Thanks! Makes sense I suppose. Still, when we're working between a man who took some photos and says someone on set said it was a GTA commercial, and then a fansite who says they've confirmed with Rockstar that there was no commercial, it's tough to figure out the truth.

Hopefully we can confirm something a bit more official soon.

This was apparently 'confirmed' to not be a Rockstar production, but a Sony production. Rockstar and Take Two apparently didn't even have any knowledge of this being filmed.

People randomly walk onto movie backlots and start taking pictures?
I dunno, I just find the enviroment a bit movie backlot like setting, with the boarded windows, one of the buildings have a cheap looking rooftop, that same building has a TVElectronics with a pile of old TV setts placed there.

I see an old fashion lampost and a more modern lampost.

With the amount of enviroment they all need to sett-up wrecked cars, broken lampost, broken Streets, electronic stores with old TV's, a garage door with some kind of thing in it, a car covered with trees and stuff, it would be more appropiate to use a backlot then an actuall location for a whole partian of the street to be closed off, and rechange the enviroment in it with some massive enviromental sett up.

Could be an actuall location, but I don't think even in an actuall location they would let people that close to a sett, if they have no business there, you don't want people getting injured or messing around with the props, or taking stuff away.

Master It's rather unclear. Guy said he lived in one of the buildings right there and watched them film the whole thing.

I've gathered that this is in Mexico City, Rockstar would've surely done their advertisement in LA.
Might be L.A., This all seems like a Movie Backlot to me, then an actuall location.

I hunted down the original thread where these images were posted on Reddit. The author says he asked one of the folk working on the commercial what it was for and they said GTA. Someone else in the thread said it was a Sony commercial with reference to GTA.

So it's not Rockstar?

Is this actually from Rockstar? I'm thinking that advertisement might just be an 'innocent bystander'.

I saw the trailer for the game, it looks amazing... It's just sad I have to wait a year after release for the PC port. Murrr...
