Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, the spiritual successor to Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, is now planned for release on May 22 for PC, and on XBLA and PSN. The digital-only title will cost a mere $14.99 and if you preorder on PC, Bound in Blood will actually be included in the purchase. Considering how popular titles like Red Dead Redemption are, there's been a lull in old western games. Hopefully Gunslinger will scratch that itch.
A heavily stylized first person shooter, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will put players in the shoes of a bounty hunter taking down some of the biggest guns of the wild west. Considering our bounty hunter, Silas Greaves, probably isn't the most reliable narrator, expect Gunslinger to be a mix of myth and history. Needless to say, you'll be shooting lot of dudes in the face.
Surprisingly, we haven't seen much of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, despite its release being only a month away now. Sure, it's a smaller-scale downloadable title -- in that glorious $15 price range -- but we've got to wonder if Gunslinger won't be getting much of a marketing campaign. Perhaps that will change in the weeks leading up to May 22. See you soon, cowboy.
