I've currently still got my golden key. Does this code mean I'll be able to use 2?

EricF They give out a lot of SHIFT codes that give anywhere from 1-5 golden keys. This particular code gives 3.

http://orcz.com/Borderlands_2:_Golden_Key?all_keys This has a list of all the backlogged ones. So go nuts.

Now I can get certain people to get on XBL and play with me because they are too cheap to pay for gold.

Not everyone wants to support gold/pay $60 a year for online which other consoles and PC offer for free. :V

Now I can get those last few achievements for those games that need you to play online. xD

Kind of happy to have a few days off.

There's cheaper ways to get this though. >> I usually get my 12-month subscriptions for $25 and I don't consider that to be much.

Slash Yes, like being able to form chat groups outside the game itself?

I can understand why people don't want to pay, but yeah, LOD-squa has a point in saying there are cheaper ways. If you look, you can get pretty decent deals on just about anything. XBL Gold does have a lot to offer, but they can certainly stand to improve; and hey, not everyone needs the paid service.

$60 Just for party chat? Also Skype.
A lot to offer? You're kidding right? Using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. Isn't all of that locked behind a gold paywall? Yet on every other console it's for free. It looks like it has a lot to offer because Silver is so barebones.
Sony and Nintendo are doing it right, majority of Gold's services you can get are for free on these consoles. Hell PPlus is what a paid service should be.

If you want to pay for Gold go ahead, but calling people cheap who don't pay for it makes you look dumb.
As you're the one who's getting ripped off with Gold.

Xbox 360 online play must be free at all times, if Microsoft wants to survive in the long-term!!!

Slash No, that isn't all. I was just pointing out that's one of the seemingly most basic features that, for whatever reason, other console services didn't see fit to include. (PC kind of trumps all.)

No need to get snippy, by the way. I just pointed out there are people who like what Gold offers, but that it isn't for everyone -- which is understandable. Bear in mind that no matter what company you're looking at, they all need to make money. Sony pointed out that PSN had not made them a profit (money, yes, but not profit) since launch, a few years back. Hence, PS+ was implemented.

My problem is certainly not with paying for a service, but wanting my buck to go a little further. If I'm spending my money, I want to make sure that I'm getting my money's worth.

You also seem to leave out that most of the basic features that PC/other consoles offer for free, you have to pay $60 a year for it.

And I'm just pointing out what Gold offers majority of the stuff you can get for free another platforms. Calling people cheap for not paying for a service which other platforms offer for free hahaha

Yes companies need to make money but compare PSN with Silver and PPlus and with Gold.
Majority of the stuff you get from Gold is for free is on PSN for non paid members.
PPlus is what a service should be you get all the basic features such as Youtube,Online, Browsers,Netflix, etc. on the PSN. While Pplus offers services which are just an added bonus free games,discounts.etc. Unlike Gold which you have to have to get majority of the stuff you get for free on WiiU/PS3/PC.
Compared to the other services Gold is a joke and that it's hilarious you see people who pay for it call the others who don't support this bs "cheap"

That $60 a year for party chat sure must be worth it.

I can't remember the last time I paid full price for XBL.

And hey, that basic antenna is free, why pay $80 a month for DirecTV.
