What's really funny is, while yes the entire reason for DRM is to supposedly protect against pirates, it's doing nothing but hurting the people who legitimately buy the game. I had this same conversation with my buddy the other day, and pirates/hackers will always find a way around these security functions, so while it does give them a small hurdle, they're still going to get what they're looking for. The ones who go out and buy the game, on the other hand, now have to deal with this rediculously broken security measure that's really lowering the quality of their gaming experience.

Says the guys who hates EA just because of a ending. I mean forget about all the hours you enjoyed playing the series, just the ending ruins all that time you enjoyed the game right?

I know you believe strongly about your opinion, I accept it. How can you accept these practices that you never grew up to?
I don't like the practices and I don't even support games that usually have Day 1 DLC or On Disc DLC, but I can see why EA uses Online Passes,Online DRM, and Microtransactions. I don't hate them for using it but if you guys dislike it so much crying about it on the internet is going to work if you guys end up buying their games anyway. Plus I don't even usually buy EA's games.

I never said Online DRM works, I just said EA uses it to try and fight against the piraters.

There are FAR worse companies in america, and the rest of the world, than EA. Starbucks, for example.

Starbucks is a horrible company ?_?

At below post...
Just googled it. Looks to be a UK thing because I had never heard of it here (USA). Didn't know there was that type of shenanigans going on. But in terms of the customer interaction, they seem alright. It's a gigantic chain, so it's hard to put blame on the entire company.

You've obviously not read or heard about their tax transgressions, or tasted their ridiculously overpriced coffee.

I do see why they use some practices. They dont work though. Pirates find many ways to bypass these minor things. No matter where EA are, Pirates are always a step up.

Others though i dont understand. Now im not complaining about EA's microtransactions much because we can use in game currency to get them but i feel it should stay where it originated, in F2P games.

Online Passes though is the main thing that grinds my gears. I'm not saying this in my perspective as im able to fork out £40 for a game but some may not and it isnt fair on those consumers.

Now i dont blame EA for trying to get money. The economy is declining and they havent been up to standards since the 2008 stock market crash. I just wish they would be fair to paying customers and punish the pirates.

Absolutely. Those last 10 Minutes corrupted the money, time and effort I put in those games.

Well sourced, that article was great. I agree with a lot of what was said in there (have recently said a lot of it). Massively irritated that they tried to play the "defender of morality" card. Unfortunately, I think Moore's speech was also aimed to investors in addition to gamers, and regardless of how much we sputter in rage it's more about EA soothing fears than anything else.

EA only recently saw it's stocks start to rise again because market analysts thought that they have the chance to see good growth with BF4 and other gaming developments in the industry as a whole. This is running against EA themselves expecting Q4 losses. With the last CEO leaving in March and causing a collapse, any news that the COO may not be as competent as we could hope may harm EA. Making out the issues to be the result of "tastes" rather than key problems in development or business allows EA to sidestep issues altogether in the market in the short-term.

This is all the worse since EA is down 60% since 2007, and Activision is remaining stable, their top competitor. Further loss of share value may actually harm the company, and the rise we've seen since mostly looks to be speculative than based on good decisions. A shock to investor confidence could send nervous investors fleeing.

Also, weasels gotta weasel. Not as big as the other reasons to talk about, but a consideration none-the-less.

I had to lol hard at EA's idea that people hate EA because of their inclusiveness of LGBT content. Pretty clear that no-one at the top there "gets it." EA is great at exploiting franchises by milking every last dollar out of them until they are essentially worthless, terrible games. This business model may keep them afloat year after year, but it truly lowers the bar for the rest of the industry. Try to find ANY developer that has been absorbed into the EA machine that hasn't turned out the worst for it (hi Bioware). That's why EA sucks so badly.

*facepalm* Mishtram no disrespect but read what i said about slash and what CTTR champion said about slash.
What is up with you dude? Why are you so obsessed with me?
Also where am I trolling? I just stated the obvious people complain about EA everyday yet these are the same people that run day 1 to buy their games.
Bunch of hypocrites, if they want EA to train instead of crying over the internet they should just not buy their games. <_<
You guys need to learn what a troll is, just because someone doesn't agree with you does not mean they're trolls.
Slash,

Duncan Idaho may be mistaken. You see your comments are often so stupid and narrow minded and your arguments so childishly simplistic that Duncan has (quite understandably) taken the view that you are just trying to cause trouble and wind people up.

I on the other hand I take the stance that you are not trolling but are being genuine and very sincere. You are just a f**kwit.

Mneh, one of us is right.

I don't think you should be calling anyone out.
I didn't pay the full price for the game and the Devs and publishers are getting $0 but I deserve 100% of the content of the game just like everyone else!
