The last PlayStation 4 event was huge. Sony announced its brand new console, a handful of the first next-gen games we've been waiting so patiently for, and a controller/camera combination that's not the focus of the platform -- everything look great. We didn't see the console, however. Then, GDC rolled by, where many were expecting Sony to showcase... well, anything. Nothing. Will they be waiting for E3 to finally reveal the actual PlayStation 4?
Not according to the latest rumors from PC Magazine, who've claimed they've received information from a source confirming another PlayStation event for the end of April or beginning of May. According to the source, or maybe just lazy language by PC Mag, the event will be the PlayStation 4's true reveal, lining up the console perfectly for an E3 that lets gamers and press really get to see the console in action.
Oddly enough, Microsoft is also rumored to have a console-revealing event lined up for April for the Durango, but in all honesty it's just as likely they wait for E3. Microsoft loves its E3s.
Here's hoping both Sony and Microsoft jump at the opportunity and fully announce their consoles this month or in May, if only so Lydia and I don't have to kill ourselves writing during E3 proper. Also, show me more of Deep Down, please. Pretty please?
