Along with an assortment of Titan rumors, fansite Titan Focus also had one more big rumor that really deserves a post all of its own. According to Titan Focus' source Blizzard is going to push BlizzCon 2013 to its extremes. Expansions for StarCraft II, Diablo III, and World of Warcraft will each be teased or featured in some way and Titan itself will also make a showing.
We know StarCraft II still has its Legacy of the Void expansion ahead of it. What with the release of Heart of the Swarm just weeks ago it's not surprising to see Blizzard striking while the iron's hot and teasing the big StarCraft II finale. That doesn't mean release is anywhere near close, oh no. Blizzard will probably keep Void in development and testing for another year, maybe two -- but a teaser trailer would be great.
It's well known that Blizzard is working on a Diablo III expansion, but details on said expansion are nonexistent. After Blizzard cut PvP matchmaking and arenas from the game, I'd expect that will come back in some form in the expansion (but not for free like it should be). Also, a continuation of the campaign and hopefully some way of making the auction houses less intrusive.
World of Warcraft's expansion, well, hmm... this is tough. Tough, because this could be the last World of Warcraft expansion. We know subscription rate for the MMO are dropping, albeit slowly (well, slowly considering there's millions of players still subscribed), and we know there was a leaked Blizzard document charted projects well into the future, but the next expansion was the final one for Warcraft. With Titan on the verge of announcement, maybe two years from release... what can we expect from World of Warcraft.
Titan is... a mystery. This morning's rumor dumb is about as close as we've gotten to real details on the game yet. It's unlikely Blizzard would release its new MMO to compete against a fresh World of Warcraft expansion, so while the game will likely be teased it's surely at least a year and a half, two years away from even a potential release.
Altogether, we're likely to see a lot of teasers, but not much actual gameplay or in-depth coverage. Perhaps the Diablo III expansion and the World of Warcraft expansion will be farther along, perhaps not, but surely we won't see Legacy of the Void or Titan beyond teasers. Still... so much Blizzard in one big event. Taking a year off really had a great effect, huh?
