Puppeteer, that imaginative 2D platforming adventure featuring a young boy searching to retrieve his head, now has an assortment of intriguing release information. The PlayStation 3 exclusive title will be released on September 10, but here's the catch -- Puppeteer will priced at at $40, a retail game caught between retail and downloadable prices.
That's not to say $40 isn't a great price. If Puppeteer can deliver an experience that makes players disregard the above-downloadable price then by all means. Considering what we've seen so far, however, I'm curious what the justification for the non-downloadable price range is. It's a cute story with an interesting feature where the main character swaps heads and gain new powers, but... well, hm.
Nevertheless, Puppeteer looks solid and original like many of the indie PSN games we've come to expect from the platform these days. If anything, it'll be a good indicator of what SCE Japan Studio has in store for their PlayStation 4 launch title Knack. In the mean time, check out this new story trailer.
