Gearbox announced today that Borderlands 2's "Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack" is now digitally available across all platforms. The pack raises the game's level cap from 50 to 61 and also introduces a new difficulty along with pearlescent-colored weapons - the tier above all other tiers. Included with Borderlands 2's season pass of DLC, those on the outside can also pick up the pack for $4.99 (400 MSP).
Fans have been crying for additional levels since the game launched, only to be disappointed with each campaign DLC. While this single level increase may be too little too late for some Borderlands 2 fans, not to mention its premium cost, for dedicated fans it will likely be the most significant DLC release yet -- or to be. I guess we still have one more campaign DLC left to be announced, though.
Borderlands 2 is currently available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game has three campaign DLC packs already release, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage and Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. There's also a character DLC available for the Mechromancer class and another one coming up soon for Krieg the Psycho. Plenty of Borderlands content to keep the addicted sated.
Update: As confirmed by community members, the pack is actually not available. Just because 2K says it's so doesn't make it so. Expect the Vault Hunter DLC to come out at some point today, we'd assume. Probably up to each platform's discretion.
