Seems the gaming industry isn't keen on slowing down, as each year's conventions set new records over the last. GDC organizers have revealed that the 2013 Game Developers Conference set one of its own this year, with a record high of 23,000 attendees.
The next GDC will be more or less the same week of March, and once again at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The exact dates? Monday, March 17, through Friday, March 21. No doubt we'll be seeing even higher numbers of attendance in 2014.
This year has certainly had its share of highlights:
- Konami unveiled Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, for instance, complete with the wackiest game trailer ever.
- Bungie gave a little more background into their upcoming Destiny shooter, including the three playable classes.
- Epic Games showed off their Unreal Engine 4 with a breathtaking trailer.
- Not to be outdone, Activision showcased some new facial animation tech that blew our minds.
