Sony Computer Enterainment may still be an industry juggernaut, but these last few years have not been smooth sailing for the company. Furthing their efforts to cut costs, Sony has decided to merge Sony Japan with Sony Asia, to form Sony Japan Asia.
The new Sony Japan Asia division will be led by SCE Japan president Horoshi Kawano, with Sony Asia's ex-chief Hiroyuki Oda becoming Hawano's deputy president. Unfortunately, many will undoubtedly be losing their jobs over the merger, as restructuring plans continue through the company.
Certain departments within the two formerly separate units will be merged, like marketing and finance. Now, the ultimate goal is to stop the company's financial bleeding for speedier recovery.
