Grasshopper Manufacture is busy developing Killer is Dead for consoles, to be released later this year, but that doesn't mean they're not concepting their next project at the same time. It also doesn't mean they're not completely comfortable teasing their next project, either. Here we have a few pieces of concept art for their next game. Wait... is that... is that Shinobu from No More Heroes!?
We last saw Shinobu in the 2010 release No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (well, unless you consider the remake of the original title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). She's a particularly conflicted character, both hating Travis Touchdown as she initially believed he killed her father, yet also respecting him for his assassination abilities and finding herself attracted to him as well (Travis turns her down, what a guy).
She's also a particularly visually unique character, which is perhaps why we believe it's her in this concept art. She's holding an umbrella, which covers most of her face, but what we do see of her is fairly persuasive.
Still, what we're seeing here is still just concept art. It may or may not be a real project, it may or may not be the project Grasshopper Manufacture wants to put its weight behind after Killer is Dead is released. Suda 51 didn't even want to make a No More Heroes sequel until the first game sold well. Why would he want to make another? I guess we'll see. After all, the other pieces of concept art aren't anything like the No More Heroes I remember.
Killer is Dead will be released later this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and is likely worth forgetting about No More Heroes entirely for.
