Divinity: Original Sin has already been in development for a few good years now, but developer Larian Studios is now turning to Kickstarter to wrap things up. Well, "enhance" the original product, anyway.
As Larian puts it, Original Sin's development is already "well under way and most of the feature are already in place." What the Kickstarter is about, really, is "making an excellent game even better."
With 29 more days to go, the ultimate goal is a whopping $400,000. As of writing, 1,171 backers have contributed $52,692 in funds. It's a decent start, that's for sure.
The studio issued this statement, from Larian founder Swen Vincke:
"Turning to Kickstarter is all about making our game as good as possible for our fans and allowing us to create the experience that we've always imagined. There's a lot of potential in the game systems we've created so far, so we want to invest everything we can into pushing them further and unlocking their full potential. If we get the extra support from our fans now, I'm very confident that we'll be able to make something truly exceptional. "
So if you like Larian's fantasy RPGs, head over to the Kickstarter page to let them know... with your money. Good luck, devs.
