This game will likely ship as Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain as it is a companion piece to Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, both games make up the whole story of Metal Gear Solid 5.

Oh as an addition I'm hearing that David Hayter is not returning as Snake.

BlackLabel They confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is both Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes. They are one and the same.

Ah my mistake. When I was watching it on the stream it seemed like both would be individual games. Saves me money so I am more than happy to be wrong lol.

At the end of the trailer a female voice is heard saying "V has come to" perhaps referring to Snake by a codename, as he's waking from his coma.

As such "Metal Gear Solid V" may have double meaning, which sounds like something Kojima would do.

David Hayter just posted on Twitter, "well look, at least I had a good run," someone replied with, "Such a shame. Did they even ask you to do it?," and he replied with, "nope."

I'm sad...

Blue, you're a *bleep*ing genius and I think I love you.

David Hayter will return, but not as Snake. You see? He'll return as "V." It sort of makes sense too because Big Boss is often referred to as "Vic Boss" and/or "Vic Voss" in Peace Walker. They've probably shortened it to "V" since then. I think it's all part of these games Kojima's been playing.

I still haven't lost hope, if anything.

You might be on to something there... although we DO hear Big Boss' voice in that gameplay trailer, and it is NOT David Hayter. It could be Kojima trolling us (again), but there is sufficient plot-lines to cover up a new voice actor. I.E he was in a coma for nine years.

I've got another level to this conspiracy.

Okay, so if we piece together the few tweets he's sent out, Hayter claims he "wasn't even asked to play Snake" in "the next MGS."

What if he meant Solid Snake? If the next MGS (The Phantom Pain) takes place when we're lead to believe (shortly after Peace Walker), Solid Snake should be a few years old. If Solid Snake makes an appearance (as a child) of course they "wouldn't even ask" David Hayter to play to the role, and since Big Boss/Naked Snake is now apparently code-named "V," they could've asked him to play "V."

This all makes what Hayter's saying technically true but still capable of *bleep*ing with our heads. It's a pretty brilliant scenario if what I'm thinking is right.

David will not voice BB in this game... But then again did he voice BB in MGS4? . Kojima said before ground zeroes in a prequel to 5. So he is either going to have solid snake make an apperance in this game or there will be a new mgs after this with both of them in it. Considering Hideo also said he wasnt done with Solid Snake yet. Why have 2 characters voiced by the same person... Itd be way way too confusing. Bingo.

Kojima certainly knows how to screw with people doesn't he, I really wouldn't be surprised if he got David Hayter in on too.

technically, there's no reason why there shouldn't. snake is a clone of big boss, so why wouldn't he have the same voice? but it'll probably be the voice of the same guy who did big boss in mgs4.

Technically yes... But honestly how confusing would that get in a dialogue... Especially considering mgs games dont always just show the characters speaking. Theres flashback..diagrams, pictures etc during dialogue. Wouldnt work in a video game.
