Squaresoft and Enix were and now are a great conglomerate in my honest opinion. It is hard to sell core Japanese games in the Western market, but we have already seen with cases of a few titles such as Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, that there is a strong fan base here in America. As any President of a corporation should do, listen to your fan base, they are your consumers after all

Square-Enix really is doing a pretty good job as a publisher.

Their issue is development. They need to get someone in there ready to back hand some sense into people. Their development division seems to have serious issues with leadership. FFXII and every game after it has had some sort of serious development issues.

Also I have a hard time seeing how they can complain about reception in western markets when they are now making a FFXIII-3.

well Square enix, many of us have been demanding a Type 0 to the point you forced people to just make a english patch instead

Yeah, it seems like their problem is that they're not really nurturing the creative/development side of the company anymore. I mean, the only franchise I can remember them developing in-house is FF and those have gotten pretty formulaic.

I wonder if Wada's fortune teller foresaw this..

Can't say I'll be missing Wada either. He wasn't as bad as some other CEOs but he definitely wasn't great either. Hopefully, fingers crossed, some new leadership is just the encouragement SE needs to become great again.

...Or he could be worse. But what's the point of being pessimistic, aye?

The PSP market is more or less dead here and it would not address the problem areas in the various reports: console games and arcades. I'd like to see the game come out as much as anybody, but to pretend it would magically offset a 3 million projection is at least as crazy as any of Wada or Sakaguchi's shenanigans.

Hmmm, could it be that your sluggish western sales may be due to your lack of releases/localizations for the western market?
The last Squenix developed game I can think of is FFXIII-2. There may have been more recent ones, but they're not ringing a bell.
Also, gamers prefer pc/console as opposed to handhelds (looking at you, Kingdom Hearts.)

Forget the AAA's, all they need to do is focus on JRPGs and whatnot! Just revamp every FF game in HD! Then again, most people in the west only buy AAA's and not JRPG's, so that's probably poor advice financially ^-^

And don't make FF13-3 have as bad of a story as 13-2, because that was cringe-worthy. (zzz... bad time travel plots)

I'd also love to see more Vita releases, but owell .

They need to go grab Tri-Ace and release a new Star Ocean. That's what I would love to see. There's something about that series that, in my opinion, makes it a million times more epic than any of their other titles.

Good. Ff13 sucked. I didn't bother with 13-2. And I couldn't believe they announced a third. Hopefully they get back to their roots, and return the series to it's original form. I know ff isn't their only title, but it's the only title I care for, I also want to try watchdogs.... And a new star ocean would be dooooooooooooooooope.

How could you leave out Valkyrie Profile? That's a game that's in need of a third installment. I'll settle for a new Star Ocean too, but I've been begging for VP3 for years.
