I now its not considered "cool" to be for this kind of thing but its good to hear that ESRB ratings are actually being enforced. Not only does it help keep inappropriate material away from kids but it helps throw a wrench in the plans of anyone complaining about them getting a hold of them in the first place.

If only the ESRB ratings were actually logical...

1 word: Parents. That's how kids are getting these games. ESRB ratings can only do so much when parents still buy these M rated games for their brats.

Oh my, what have I gotten myself into!

Ok, aside from a ton of Japanese games, there's a few. Halo's whole series is no more bloody or violent than any PG-13 movie. Shit man, isn't like the Transporter PG-13? (Using Transporter as an example is rather poor, since it's so tasteless of a movie it should have been R)

Though, honestly, I think they are better than they used to be, excluding a huge list of Jp games that are M. (Persona?)

Your right, but my point was they can't claim that children can readily obtain them by themselves since they have to have an adult with them.

Yay4sean Your right that the ESRB can be sorta inconsistent (why is HM:AWL rated T?) but they seem to be going by what they see at face value which is what most parents see. In their description for one version of Persona 3 they mentioned how the characters appear to be shooting themselves in the head along with the way some personas were dressed and some inappropriate dialog.

Either way, I do not really believe the accuracy of the ratings are that important. Anyone old enough to purchase a game out of their own money should be able to buy any game they want. If they aren't old enough, their parents should use some basic reasoning skills and look into it some. It takes like, <5 minutes to go through a trailer or something. >_>

Movies are a much more influential and violent media anyway!

Parents use basic reasoning? The ones that do are *bleep*ing unicorns currently. I didn't get an M rated game until I hit 17. Hell I wasn't allowed to touch the Sims till 13. Anyone who blindly buys their kids a video game is a damned fool. I have seen parents scream at gamestop employees for suggesting not to buy an M rated game for their kid, But there is little Jimmy smiling with newest God of War or Gears of War in his hand. God forbid he get ahold of a game in the Witcher series or anything about the Mafia.
