Tecmo Koei is doing some reorganizing at home, and part of this undoubtedly scary process involves splitting Team Ninja into two groups. Yep, the studio behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive is separating to work on different projects.
The new Team Ninja will be reorganized into "Ichigaya Development Group 1" and "Ichigaya Development Group 2." Current Team Ninja lead Yosuke Hayashi will be leading Group 1, and Group 2 will fall under Fatal Frame producer Keisuke Kikuchi. Prior to this change, Kikuchi acted as senior manager at Team Ninja.
Right now, there's no way of telling how projects will be impacted by the change, or if any other studios are being shuffled around.
Recently, Tecmo Koei released Dead or Alive 5 Plus to PS Vita, with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge headed to PS3 and Xbox 360 in April. The reorganizing definitely comes as a strange time.
