It's not that there haven't been any great co-op games lately, though there has certainly been less than usual. No, it's that Dragon's Crown looks so ridiculously great. Atlus announced today that Vanillaware's four player co-op beat 'em up will be coming to North America this summer and judging from what we've seen so far, it will be a must have for PlayStation 3 or Vita owners.
Naoto Hiraoka, President and CEO of Index Digital Media, pines over Dragon's Crown's upcoming release:
"Dragon's Crown is one of the most perfect games I've ever played. The amazing game design and artwork are among the best in any console generation, and the cooperative gameplay is highly addictive."
Index Digital Media is a part of Atlus' publishing corporation, by the way, in case you were wondering why we decided to include a quote from some random guy in the industry. It would probably work just as well, though. "Larry the construction worker says Dragon's Crown looks real pretty, real, real, real pretty." Thanks, Larry.
Dragon's Crown will officially release in Japan on July 25, and while it may be beyond Atlus' means to peg that down as a global release date we'll hope for it either way.
