Great move Sony. Great *bleep*ing move. No seriously. Microsoft and Nintendo are in big trouble if they don't take up on this as well.

Unity seems to be the Indie OS of choice. Everywhere I look these days, Unity seems to be mentioned as the ideal platform for indie development.

Sony seems to be gathering all possible middleware support for both indie and AAA game development. Seems good times are coming for gamers of all genres.

Good job Sony. Keep it up.

Perhaps.. I still think the Vita's woes are more down to average sales of the hardware. Unity support may not solve that issue as if it's still a risk developing for Vita then indie studios won't bother. I think we will see a lot of indie support on PlayStation 4 though thanks to this deal which is great.

Vita always had a lot of games.
It's just that majority of them were Jrpgs....
Meh the Vita needs more than just Jprgs.

I think the same way, plus Vita often relies on re-make games such as 'Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Sigma Plus 2', also rumor of MGS: Rising on Vita too!

So if you wanted to develop games for PlayStation, whether big or indie, the Unity engine is your best bet?
