Bless you, Legend of Grimrock, you've brought on a new age fore first-person RPGs with turn-based combat. Today Ubisoft announced Might & Magic X Legacy, the return of a classic RPG franchise that we'd last seen die with the demise of developer 3DO. First person, dungeon crawling, turn-based combat with a party of four, and plenty of Might & Magic nostalgia. Yeah, that's the good stuff.
Might & Magic X Legacy will be developed by Limbic Entertainment, a relatively young developer who has only been a part of a couple small projects. These small projects just happen to be Might & Magic Heroes VI adventure packs Danse Macabre and Pirates of the Savage Sea. As such, they're not only actively involved withe the Might & Magic universe, but already have groundwork set for a full game -- which hopefully means we'll see Might & Magic X Legacy in 2013 (no official release date yet).
For all announced details for Might & Magic X Legacy check out the newly launched website, which should have a few treats for Might & Magic fans. They've got a few extre feature details like that there are four races, each with three unique classes, to form your four-person party from. Might & Magic X Legacy will be playable at PAX East this weekend, so hopefully we'll have more information soon.
