How another AAA title being ported to Wii U? EA has released Need for Speed: Most Wanted to Nintendo's newest console, and Criterion's made sure to stock it full of exclusives, to entice those of you with Wii Us in your possessions. Features like... backseat driving.
Well, by "backseat driving," I mean cooperative play. Need for Speed Most Wanted U, as it's called, features co-op play using the GamePad and controller. Basically, the person with the controller (Remote or Pro) gets to navigate, while the player holding the miniature screen can provide "navigational assistance" through the real-time map, not to mention ditch cops, switch from night to day, and activate special boosts for the car. So this can either be a real bonding experience, or completely destroy friendships, depending on how much of a troll you and your buddy can be.
The GamePad's trouch-sensitive screen also supports a number of the game's other features, like switching vehicles, checking milestones, and so forth. Executive producer Rob O'Farrell remarked on Criterion's work for the Wii U version:
"At Criterion Games, we really took the time to learn and understand the Wii U. When creating Need for Speed Most Wanted U, we wanted to maximize the console’s power to deliver an immediately fun and accessible racing experience. We are very proud of the end result.”
